V551 experience from user Botazefa
22b8:4902 - AT 22b8:4901 - P2K
- The Setup
- Using Motorola USB cable. Fedora Core 4 with devfs. Running moto4lin as root. I had to edit ~/.qt/moto4linrc manually. Note that when moto4lin or p2ktest switches phone from AT to P2K mode, the /dev/ttyACM0 character device disappears. This was confusing to me but now makes sense. Here is output in terminal window from which I ran moto4lin for the V551 and listed the '/a' drive on the phone:
Plugging the phone in to USB port
[root@FedoraCore4 ~]# lsusb Bus 004 Device 016: ID 22b8:4902 Motorola PCS E398 GSM Phone [root@FedoraCore4 ~]# ls -lahtr /dev/ttyACM0 crw-rw---- 1 root tty 166, 0 Jan 9 14:57 /dev/ttyACM0
Start moto4lin, connect to phone
[root@FedoraCore4 ~]# moto4lin Form1 PhoneMan New mode: 2 P2kProc::doConnect() doActConnect Filelist received: 487 SELCHANGE: /a - [root@FedoraCore4 ~]# lsusb Bus 004 Device 012: ID 22b8:4901 Motorola PCS Note that USB ID has changed because moto4lin set to P2K mode. '22b8:4902' and /dev/ttyACM0 are now gone.
Run p2ktest, just for fun
[root@FedoraCore4 ~]# p2ktest P2k Test Device list: 0000:0000: [Linux 2.6.13-3.D610 uhci_hcd] [] 22b8:4901: [Motorola Inc.] [Motorola Phone (V551J)] P2k Phone found - Phone Model: V551J Drive: /a Free space: 6047888 bytes File count: 487 bytes 1 127 7 4 /a/moto.tcf 2 2 2 0 /a/cookie.txt 3 300 40 4 /a/ALARMCLOCK 4 5392 2 0 /a/default_wml.css 5 248 2 0 /a/bullet_circle.gif ...<SNIP>...
