RAZR V3xx & Moto4Lin
Hello everybody. I have a new RAZR V3xx and I run Moto4lin yet compiled on my iMac running on MacOS X 10.4.8. Even if Moto4lin is able to connect through P2K tells me a message like "Phone is unpluged", so I supposed this model is not supported yet. Please, could you help me to do something with this phone? I don't know what I can do.
-- I also have a v3xx phone (Cingular branded) and I'm having the same problems. (I can access it from kmobiletools, and p2kcommander under windows works correctly, so I believe the problem is the switch from AT to P2K mode...)
-- I tried it at first by just setting the device to /dev/ACM0 then just switching to p2kmode and it could see the device. However the directory list came out garbled. Kmobiletools can see it, and sync address book and SMS, but as of yet cannot transfer files. --
My Razr V3xx is workign under Kubuntu; needed to install the libraries mentioned in the INSTALL file after unpacking first before installing moto4lin. Using PK mode, the settings are a little different as there are no 0x characters and although it is plugged into the usb port, setting it to a tty seems to work as mentioned in the Ubuntu forum article: [1]
- ACM Device: /dev/ttyACM0
- AT Product ID: 4902
- AT Vendor ID: 22b8
- PK Vendor ID: 22b8
- PK Product ID 4901
Handset Info
Product ID: 0x6402
Vendor ID: 0x22b8
Product ID become 0x6401 when I plug it in P2K mode.
ACM Device: /dev/cu.usbmodem0B11
Alternatives
As written above, Kmobiletools can see the V3xx and sync the address book when the phone is in data connection mode. For file transfers, install a microSD card in the phone and Linux should identify and mount the card in the phone as a USB mass storage device when the phone is in memory card connection mode. Once mounted, pictures, ringtones, music, and other media can then be transfered between the card and Linux through any file manager. The phone OS can use the files directly from the card and can transfer files between the card and the factory supplied memory. The above was verified with a gold V3xx, Lexar 2gb microSD card, Motorola USB cable, and Kubuntu 6.xx. Presumably, a bluetooth connection would similarly work but I have not tested it.
